Got a call at work from someone saying they were from British Gas. We explained that we don’t even have gas connected here, so no chance we’re with British Gas. The guy started arguing with my mate, so we just ended the call. Then he called right back and got annoyed that we’d hung up on him, so we did it again. No sign of him after that.

I got a call from someone named Malik claiming to be from Ye or Yg Energy, but he couldn’t even spell the company name properly, which instantly made me suspicious. I asked him to send an email to the MD, but what really threw me was that our company’s name is in the email address he was supposed to use, and yet he didn’t know how to spell it right. That just made me even more wary.

They phoned me a few times saying someone was using my name to try and get a quote from YU Energy, and they wanted to check the info with me. Never heard of YU Energy before, and I definitely hadn’t asked for a quote, so I just ended the call.

Got a call from someone asking for a person by name, said they were emailing about renewing the energy contract. Mentioned they were just waiting for the paperwork to be signed. I asked for the account password, but they didn’t know it, so we’ve not gone any further with them.

Someone called asking for a specific staff member, said she’d phoned earlier and he was getting back to her. He said he was Matt from U Energy. Asked if he’s our current supplier, he said yes. Told him we’re not with them. He kept saying he was returning a call. Asked for the account password, he couldn’t give it. Told him to take our details off their system. Didn’t appreciate the dishonesty at all.

Can anyone tell me who is texting me from 0115 9758258? I've had 4 messages from someone called YuEnergy (thats actually how it appears on the text) saying I owe money for a late invoice! First text said £25, then the next two said another £25 added each time, and the fourth one today now says I owe £100. I’m definitely not a Yu Energy customer and this is really annoying and feels like harassment!!

I've been receiving a multitude of calls lately, and this particular one from YU Energy was a first for me. The chap on the other end was quite courteous, a proper British lad. I made a point to request that they take my information off their list, and he assured me he would take care of that. For now, I'll give it a neutral score, but rest assured, I’ll return with an update should they continue to ring me after I’ve asked them to stop.

I received a rather unwelcome cold call whilst at work, and after politely expressing my disinterest, I ended the conversation. To my perplexity, the chap rang me back just half a minute later, remarking, "That wasn't all that professional, was it?" I promptly hung up on him again. Much to my astonishment, within mere minutes he attempted to reach me a third time, asserting that he would be lodging a complaint about my alleged rudeness (which I maintain I was not) and insisted I would need to converse with his manager. I simply couldn't fathom it - they persisted with three calls after I had clearly conveyed my lack of interest, and yet they were acting as though I was in the wrong!
