Got a call earlier from a guy with an asian accent saying there was an issue with my router. I just ended the call straight away. Since then, I’ve gone ahead and set call barring on my phone to block similar calls.

Got a call earlier today, the classic scam about my TalkTalk router supposedly having a virus. I was polite and told them no thanks, then cheerfully wished the bloke with an Asian accent a Merry Christmas. Suddenly, he wanted to know if I was a woman and my age. I asked why that was relevant, and he told me to stop stalling and get on with it. I just laughed and said, “Hold on, I’m gonna record this, it’s too funny,” then he abruptly ended the call.

Once more, I asked TalkTalk to start their calls with a special code word or phrase, but they wouldn’t agree. They said they’d send an email beforehand, so when I got the call from Jaye without any email, I knew straight away it was a scam.

Got a call on 21st Dec 2016 at about 1.52pm. They rang again just yesterday but I didn't pick up this time since my phone now recognises who's calling.

I get about three calls daily from this number, just like lots of others. They keep saying my router has a virus. One time, I played along a bit and when I called them back, the so-called customer service person just told me to f*** off! Despite that, they still called me again the same day. TalkTalk seriously needs to fix this, it’s getting really annoying now.

I’m really annoyed with TalkTalk right now! I switched away from them before the hack happened, but somehow they still had my info saved, which is worrying.

Is there any way to stop this number from ringing me? It’s driving me mad.

Got a call yesterday from a guy with an Indian accent claiming he was from TalkTalk. He said I was owed some money and asked me to complete a form for it. Definitely a scam.

Got three calls today from someone claiming my router was infected with a virus. They said they were from TalkTalk and asked if my computer was on. When I told them I don’t even have a PC, they just hung up. It’s rubbish that TalkTalk let my info get leaked like that. Thinking it’s time to switch providers now.

Got a call from this number and the bloke said he's from TalkTalk. He went on about my router having some nasty virus and asked me to switch it on so he could fix it. His accent was really thick, something like South Asian. When I questioned if he was really with TalkTalk, he just ended the call. Fishy if you ask me.

Got a call like this earlier today. The guy told me to look at the lights on my router and make sure they were blinking. Then, he wanted me to get on my computer and type a command into the "run" box, followed by downloading a file from a website. I asked him why and he just went quiet. So I told him I’d saved his number and would be reporting him. He rang back later, but I told him off and said not to bother calling again. I’ve blocked the number now. Seems like some kind of scam or hack attempt - best just to hang up and not engage.

Got a ring from this number and the bloke said he was with TalkTalk. I told him straight up he wasn’t and asked why he was trying to scam me. He first said he wasn’t a scammer. I kept telling him again he’s not from TalkTalk and then he just ended the call on me!!!

Had a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming he was from TalkTalk. He said my router was infected with a virus that could mess up my computer. I played along just to see what he was up to. He asked if the lights on my router were flashing, I said yes, which he said was a good sign. Then he got me to press the Windows key and "R" to open the "Run" box, and started telling me to type some commands. I shut it down and said no. He asked how else I thought I’d be connected to the TalkTalk tech team. Refused again, then surprisingly, he told me my account number! So it's obvious they have a database. I didn’t confirm it and he kindly ended the call. Part of me regrets not seeing what he wanted me to enter - might give it another go next time.

Got a call from someone saying they were from TalkTalk’s router team, saying there was an issue with my router. They actually knew my details and account number, so it seemed pretty legit at first. But I rang TalkTalk up myself and they told me they never ring customers about router faults and there was no sign of them making that call. Definitely a scam!
