Received a call purporting to be from Gas UK regarding two payments on my credit card. I'm a bit dubious about whether this number can be trusted.

This morning I received a call from someone claiming to be from Gas UK. They arranged two bill payments - one was to go towards my credit balance and the other was supposed to give me a 10% discount on my bill. Lucky for me, I wasn’t actually behind on payments since I have about £63 credit on my account.
