4 yearsI received a rather peculiar call earlier from a bloke claiming to be John Mathews, supposedly representing Amazon. He informed me that an iPhone had been bought using my debit card by someone in Reading, and then inquired if I had access to a computer or any similar gadgets. I explained to him that I’m 86, a bit hard of hearing, and don’t possess such technology. When I pressed him for a contact number, he bizarrely stated he couldn’t provide one as he was communicating through a server. Shortly after that, he hung up.
