Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT saying there were issues with my internet. Played along for a bit, then asked him to give me my BT account number to prove he was legit. He just told me it was up to me if I wanted to trust him and then he ended the call.

Just to share my experience, I received a call from someone claiming my internet was compromised. When I expressed my scepticism, he provided a number to confirm his story: 01618186978. He identified himself as Abraham and mentioned an ID of ds19473. After using 1471, I noted another number, 01159406088 from Nottingham. A quick search online confirmed my suspicions-it’s clearly a SCAM!

I received two phone calls from this number earlier today. An Asian gentleman on the line claimed to be from BT's Technical Services, offering assistance with what he described as an issue with my broadband. Given that I had just spent the past six months dealing with a broadband headache and had only resolved it an hour prior-literally just at nine o'clock-I immediately recognised the ruse and called him out on it! Undeterred, he rang me back and insisted he'd touch base again within the hour, ominously warning that my broadband would be disconnected in the meantime. It's maddening to encounter such persistent and likely fraudulent characters; they pose a real threat and deserve to be held accountable! Surely there must be a method to trace this spurious phone number back to its origins.

My elderly family members got a call from this number saying they were from BT, but they aren’t even BT customers. They asked for passwords which is just wrong. These people are scammers and it’s awful how they target older folks like that.

Received two calls earlier today. On the first one, a lady with an Asian accent began probing me about my computer, prompting me to hang up quite quickly. The second call was just silence, followed by a curt "goodbye." When I attempted to return the call, I was met with a message saying "telephone number not recognised." We have a call blocking feature for anonymous numbers on our landline, yet these call centres appear to have found a way around it, using clever software that conceals their actual number. I suppose it’s back to my usual tactic of bombarding them with questions before they manage to speak!

Somebody rang claiming to be from BT tech support, said there was an issue with lines in my area and gave my exact postcode (which was freaky), said my internet would go down though I dont even use BT. I knew IT was dodgy so I just played along for a bit. They tried to get me to visit a website, but I pretended I didn’t understand and after a while she called me a monkey and hung up. Anyone with a BT connection might get caught out if they arent careful about these scams.

I received a call from a chap with an Asian accent who addressed me by name and purported to be calling from BT regarding my internet service. The funny thing is, I've never been a customer of BT at all. I often wonder if any lawmakers or telecom representatives take the time to read these sorts of reviews. Let me be crystal clear: these types of calls are nothing short of attempted fraud and ought to be both blocked at the outset and prosecuted as well. Surely, it's within the realm of possibility for telecommunications companies to track these kinds of calls and cross-reference them against a central database of suspicious numbers or those that simply don't match up with authentic sources.

Received a rather unexpected call from this number earlier today. A lady on the other end claimed to be representing BT, inquiring about my internet connection. I promptly informed her that we don’t even use BT. To my surprise, she insisted that BT supplies broadband services through various providers. Then came the part where she requested to verify my name. Naturally, I declined to share any personal information over the phone, especially with someone I couldn't confirm as legitimate. She ominously warned me that my internet could face a three-day cut-off. When I suggested she send the information in writing, she instead asked for my email address, which I refused to provide. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

This morning I got a call from the same number, claiming there was an issue with my BT landline. I told them I’m not even with BT, but they just kept twisting the conversation, acting like they were cleverer than me - which they definitely weren’t. Like I’m gonna switch on my computer and follow some nonsense to hack their machine or whatever. Seeing the other comments about them targeting older folks, I really feel for them and hope they don’t get scammed. That goes for everyone, honestly.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent sounding like they were just reading off a script, saying they were from BT tech support. I knew right away it was a scam so I told them and hung up. If you get a random call and the person’s got an Asian accent, chances are pretty high it’s a scam. Funny enough, I’d actually phoned BT support the day before. Had a rather dodgy call today from a woman claiming to be with BT, suggesting that my internet was somehow infected with a virus. Naturally, I was immediately a bit dubious, especially since I don't even have a separate line! She wanted me to follow her steps to ‘resolve’ the issue on their end, but I had my doubts. The number flashed up as being from Nottingham yet oddly labelled as international. To be honest, BT will never phone you about problems; it's always best to get in touch with them directly. So far, she's been relentless, ringing me eight times in the past hour! The last call was particularly absurd, as she insisted there must be an issue with my phone line, as the line was cutting out! Honestly, it's all rather silly.

Got a call from a man with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT, saying there was an issue with my internet. He even said he could give me my 'contract number' with them. I told him I wasn’t convinced, and he actually asked me why. Seriously? I’m suspicious because this is the third call I’ve had this week saying the same thing. My internet's perfectly fine, nothing wrong at all.

Someone claiming to be a senior manager at BT called me, said his name was Alex White and his staff number was BT737721. He told me my computer had been hacked and said he’d guide me through steps to fix it. He even mentioned two supposed hackers named Mark Bradford and Rex Taylor. Halfway through, I got a bad feeling and told Alex I wasn’t comfortable with what he was asking me to do. He then offered to put me through to a tech guy to help, but I said no and hung up. After that, my phone kept buzzing for over 15 minutes, but I just ignored it.

Blimey, going through the comments it seems they’ve been quite active today! Got a call asking for Mrs Waters or Walters, then they said there’s an issue with my phone line. I found it a bit odd since I’m talking to them on what’s supposed to be the "problem" line! I told them I’d already flagged calls like this with the police and to stop calling... They just ended the call! ;)

Pretty much the same thing happened to me, but this bloke said he was gonna cut off my internet for six months. I couldn’t help but chuckle and then I just ended the call.

I had a rather curious phone call earlier. A woman claimed to be from BT, telling me there was an issue with my broadband connection. However, when I asked for my account number, she seemed stumped. I checked my line and, lo and behold, everything's perfectly fine. Clearly, it’s just a scam. I hung up straight away!

Some woman with an Indian accent kept yapping about a car crash I supposedly had today, but I haven't even left the house all day. Ended up just hanging up on her.

Got a call from a bloke with a thick Indian accent saying he was John Abraham from BT. He told me my internet was under attack from loads of different IP addresses and I had to visit a certain website to fix it. I instantly knew it was a load of rubbish, so just ended the call.

Got a call from a bloke speaking with a really noticeable Asian accent, said his name was Harry and gave some ID like HJ23690A, said he was from the BT Tech team. He told me my BT broadband was hacked and being exploited by a bunch of folks worldwide. When I asked him for my BT customer number, he just dropped the call.

Got a call from an Asian guy claiming someone here had a car crash in the past couple of years. Total rubbish and he came across really impolite.

Got a call from a bloke yesterday, sounded Indian. He actually knew my name, which was a bit odd. I asked him for his boss's name and a number to reach them on, but he just cut me off.

The moment I answered, they just cut me off. It's so annoying having to get up just to deal with calls like these.

A guy with an Asian accent said he was John Abraham from BT’s tech support. He told me foreigners were trying to hack my IP address whenever I logged in. Funny thing is, the only one trying was him! He gave me a number to ring back - 01618186978. I knew it was dodgy so I didn’t give any details. When I asked him for my name and phone number, he got them wrong. The call ended quick when I told him he was a scammer. I reported it to BT and also to Action Fraud.

Received a call earlier from this number, claiming to be from BT Technical Services. I'm pretty certain I've contacted them before regarding this, and they assured me that I would never receive a call from them. If I were to encounter any issues, they made it clear that it would be my responsibility to reach out. I didn't stick around to hear any further nonsense and simply cut the line.

Got a call from a woman with a heavy Asian accent saying she was from BT, wanting to discuss my broadband. Didn’t matter that I’m with Virgin Media - apparently, BT handles all broadband in the UK according to her. Pretty sure it was a scam attempt, so I just told her to get lost and ended the call!

Had a lady call me at least four times yesterday with a really strong accent, saying she was from BT and that there was maintenance work happening nearby. I just said thanks and ended the call. Then this morning, she rang back with another excuse, this time about updating my computer's security. I told her I was aware of scams like that, and when I later contacted BT, they confirmed they never call out of the blue. Haven't heard from her since!

The phone rang for a mere couple of seconds, and after I answered, it went silent. It seems likely that someone's just having a laugh at our expense. Best not to engage with this one!

I've been dealing with BT concerning my internet connection. It’s rather puzzling that these individuals would reach out to customers one by one! I have my suspicions that they're overseas.
