Got a call at 12:07am on our landline, which is on the TPS and not listed in the directory. It woke everyone up! There was some messed-up voicemail left, then it told me to press some digits to confirm I’d listened. Didn’t press anything, felt like a definite scam.

Got a robocall just before midnight on a Saturday, saying it was from Allianz - no idea why since I’ve never dealt with them. Didn’t bother listening properly, but it was about some card ending in xxxx that supposedly needed renewing (which isn’t even mine). Checked the number afterwards, turns out they were pretending to be my electricity company. I’ve blocked the number and sent a report to 7726.

Got a call saying a new phone was on its way and to check my email for info. I think the number itself is real and tied to a proper service, but obviously scammers are using it to trick people.

Got a call from an auto dialler that was marked as a likely nuisance on my phone. It hung up just as I picked up, so I went ahead and blocked the number right away.

Got a call at 9.39 this morning from some recorded voice saying they’d try to restore my electricity by 2.30 pm and to call back on 105 blah blah. I’m in Hampshire and haven’t had any power cuts here, ever. Seems like one of those mass calls sent out to thousands of people. Didn’t bother answering, just carried on with my day.

Just got a call saying our electric was back on, but it actually came back on about 12 hours earlier. Since everything’s digital now, our landline cuts out whenever the power’s off - and they say we’re priority customers! Can’t believe it.

After being woken up several times, mostly without catching what was said, I finally got out of bed between 3:35 and 5:40 in the morning to answer the phone. The call was an automated one from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks, or SSEN, telling me that the power had been fixed following an earlier cut. They advised if I was still having issues to have a look at the trip switches and other safety checks. To confirm I heard the message, I had to press 1. I reckon SSEN make these calls to check on people listed on their Priority Services register to make sure they’re alright.

Got a call early in the morning, about 6 am, I didn’t answer, so left a voicemail that just said “at 3pm”. I reckon it might be Welsh Water since they’re meant to be swapping out water meters shortly. Still, they really should pick a better time to ring, it’s far too early!

Got a call on our EE home phone right in the middle of the night here in Hampshire. Didn’t pick up the first time. Then early this morning around 6:45, the phone rang again. I answered but kept quiet, just listened. They ended the call after a bit. Sounds like one of those voice recognition scam things? I’m going to block the number and delete it now I’ve reported it. We’re registered with TPS but they somehow still manage to get through!

Got a call this morning around 8 from this number. It was an automated voice saying it was Welsh Water, warning about issues with water pressure and possible discoloured water in my area. Then it asked me to press 1 to acknowledge the message. I ended the call because the number didn’t look familiar, the message sounded odd - around here we know them as 'Dŵr Cymru', not Welsh Water - and I’m always wary of automated calls asking to press buttons. After seeing other reviews, I’m glad I didn’t respond. Looks like this is some sort of scam hitting loads of people.

Got a call saying my life insurance ends today, 15th Dec. Thing is, I don't even have one! They asked me to ring back to confirm I'd heard their message. No way was I falling for that, but I reckon plenty do and end up getting tricked.

Yesterday we had a power outage on the whole estate for about 12 hours and then this energy company rang up just to make sure my electricity was working again.

Got a text from some telecom thing saying my electricity would be shut off from 9am till 2pm tomorrow, and they said sorry about the disturbance. After that, they rattled off loads of phone and reference numbers at lightning speed - no way to jot them down even if I’d had a pen nearby. Then came the bit where you had to push 1 to say you’d got the message or 2 if you wanted to hear it once more. Smells like a total con to me, though I reckon loads of folks might press 2 just to double check. Pretty sneaky if you ask me!

Got a call from 01159338000 on 4th July 2025 at around 11:57am, and all I got was some recorded voice telling me to "press something for this, press something for that" but no clue what it was about. I just ended the call. Then the same number rang me again at 12:07pm and 12:17pm but didn’t bother to leave any message either time. Feels a bit like harassment to me, honestly.

Got two calls from this number, once at about 6.45pm and then again a bit after 8pm. I didn’t pick up because if it was someone who actually knows me, they’d ring my mobile, not my landline. Seems fishy to me - why else would they be ringing so late instead of during normal working hours? Definitely makes me think it’s a scam.
