DO NOT PICK UP OR RETURN THEIR CALLS! 29/08/23 Got a voicemail from a lady saying she was from Capital One’s Fraud Team, told me to ring her back on 08009525458. Didn’t use my name, and you could hear her trying not to laugh at the end of the message. This number isn't from Capital One, I had some fraud on my account and they said they couldn’t access my info unless I gave them my personal details. When I said no, the person tried to prove they were genuine by telling me my card info and credit limit. But Capital One’s fraud department told me they’d never share that info over the phone and it was a scam call for sure. Got a call from the Capital anti fraud team while I was already in a call with their anti fraud people through the Capital One app. I guess it was to confirm it was really me contacting them. It was about Go Puff, a grocery delivery service, which they thought was a dodgy payment. But it’s just a regular grocery order! The anti fraud staff were really polite and sorry about it all, but I thought it was strange they never gave me a heads up beforehand.

I went along with it, then he told me the last few digits of my phone number! He even knew my full email address. He claimed my Capital One card got blocked because of a big declined amount!! He called back about 10 mins later wanting to unlock my card? He asked for my dob - I refused. He said he could prove he was legit by giving me my balance - I said I’d call him back! Then he hung up.

This number rang me on 4 June 2020. At first, the guy noticed my payment didn’t go through because it was more than the balance I had!! I said okay, then he told me the last few digits of my phone number! Plus, he had my full email too. He claimed my Cap One card got blocked ‘cos of a big payment decline!! Then he rang again 10 minutes later, saying he wanted to unblock my card. He asked for my date of birth - I refused. He offered to give me my balance to prove who he was - I said I’d call back later! Then he hung up!!

Got a call with an Indian Asian accent rambling about some "Department" but the English made no sense at all. They told me to call a London number but the screen showed a different 0115 number. I called Capital One directly and they said they knew nothing about it. Totally a scam.
