I asked them to send me an email to confirm where they were calling from, and they gave me an address like britishgas.renewal. When I rang the number back, the bloke barely remembered his own name - said it was John Harry. He emailed me saying I’d already agreed to let him access our meter and that he just needed more documents. I rang British Gas to warn them about this and haven’t sent any paperwork to these scammers. I want to make people aware since they’re still active and using this number. They claim to be based in Nottingham, NG21AR. Not sure why he gave that info, maybe trying to make it sound real.
