A caller, who said they were ringing from Oxford and working for a climate change group, suggested I should get my roof insulated. Unlike before when I got a recorded message, this time there was actually someone talking. I told them I don't entertain cold calls and ended the call straight away. They've tried before with what sounded like a pre-recorded message, and I hung up then too. Your comment above really helped clear things up, so I feel I handled it alright, cheers David Gill.

I got a call from a bloke claiming to be some kind of “energy advisor” for my region. When I asked for his surname, he just went quiet for a moment and then launched into the same spiel again. I pressed him once more for his full name, there was a long pause, and then he just cut me off.

Got a call from this number but no clue who it might be. They didn’t bother to leave a voicemail or anything.

I didn't answer when the phone rang, but after typing the number online, it became obvious that it was just another spam call.
