I received a call from a life insurance company; the chap claimed to be disinterested, yet he wouldn’t take the hint. So, I let him chatter away while I switched on the hoover!

I received a call from some dodgy life insurance scammers who were completely clueless when it came to answering my queries. They wanted to know my full name, but I turned it back on them, saying, "You called me, so it’s up to you to provide that info!" The response was just a tirade of abuse, which I found quite amusing. In the end, she just hung up in a huff.

I've received several phone calls from someone inquiring about a Mr McDonald. Despite asking repeatedly for my number to be taken off their list, the calls keep coming. When I probed for the name of their organisation, they stated they were the Independent Review Team regarding life insurance but couldn’t actually provide a proper company name. Quite the dodgy situation, I must say!

I received a call from a number based in Nottingham, and it turns out they were pushing a fraudulent life insurance scheme. Despite requesting, under GDPR, that they provide me with every scrap of information they hold on me and delete it accordingly, they still continued to get in touch. Quite infuriating, really!

I received a dodgy call from a woman purporting to be doing an annual review for life insurance. She said her firm was associated with several major insurers but couldn't specify which company held my policy. I've now blocked and erased the number from my contacts.

However, when I mentioned that my life insurance was set up through my employer and that I couldn't understand why they were reaching out to me, they abruptly ended the call. This feels a bit dodgy, if you ask me!

This number doesn’t seem familiar to me at all, and they didn’t leave a voicemail either. So I’ve gone ahead and blocked them.

I keep getting calls from this number, and they always greet me by my first name before promptly disconnecting. It's incredibly frustrating! 😡😡😡

My call blocker successfully prevented an unwanted call from this number, labelling it as a scam. I took the liberty of verifying it on this site, and lo and behold, it confirmed my suspicions—definitely a dodgy number. Cheers to "who called me" for the heads-up!

I typically don't pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, but for some reason, I made an exception this time. I greeted the caller, but after a mere five seconds, a woman with a foreign accent (sounded Pakistani) began talking. I quickly realised it was a mistaken call and told her it was the wrong number. I chose to block that number right afterwards.

I picked up the phone and was met with a strange noise. After a rather awkward pause of around twenty seconds, I finally heard someone say "hello." That was enough for me – I hung up and have now blocked the number altogether.

I began the conversation with a simple, "Hello, is this Joe?" Honestly, what kind of professional addresses you by your first name and even shortens it? It struck me as rather odd. I had just set my phone down next to the television, where I was engrossed in a horror flick filled with ominous threats and plenty of screaming! 😂

I’ve received calls from a particularly insistent individual attempting to discuss my policies, yet they couldn't specify which ones they were referencing. They continued to press for answers, which made me quite uneasy. I’m convinced this is a scam.

I received a call about my insurance, and when I mentioned to the lady with the oriental accent that I wasn't actually insured, she carried on talking. I ended up saying I felt it was a bit dodgy and hung up. If they’re genuinely trying to sell insurance, they ought to consider hiring staff whose accents are easier to comprehend!

Oddly enough, I saw a missed call from them at 11:46 on the 14th of April—only realised it a few hours later, mind you. How on earth did they get through to me? It hasn’t been marked as a scam either! Quite perplexing, if you ask me!

I noticed a missed call from 0115 871 2368 a couple of hours after it came in at 11:46 AM. Decided to give them a ring back, but I withheld my number. An automated voice answered, informing me: "This number has been disconnected as it was found to violate our terms and conditions. Bear in mind that this is not a mobile number, and your call might have been redirected outside the UK." I've since blocked the number.

They keep ringing me without any explanation.

At first, the caller mentioned that my life insurance was up for renewal; however, I informed her that I didn’t have any such policy. She claimed to be part of an independent review team but quickly shifted to inquiring if I was a smoker. I asked her to cease the line of questioning, as I had no idea who she was. Interestingly, she insisted they wouldn't ask personal questions and continued to push the life insurance offer relentlessly. Despite telling her multiple times—around five or seven, I reckon—that I wasn’t interested, she kept on and on. Quite the persistent woman, refusing to take no for an answer!

Having worked in the telecoms field, I can assure you that Caller Line Identity (CLID) is utterly unreliable for identification purposes, no matter the situation.
