She kept asking why, what the reason was, and even if I wanted to speak to her manager. Said she wouldn’t ask for any personal details. In the end, she just hung up suddenly.

0115 8712368 Just got a call from someone called Sam claiming to be from Independent Review company. When I asked who he was reviewing, he said my Life Assurance but couldn’t actually name the policy. I asked how he could review something he had no info on, and his reply was pretty dodgy. I told him he wasn’t allowed to call me under GDPR rules and said I’d report the number before hanging up. Bit concerning for people who might not see through it.

About an hour back, I got a call from someone asking for a guy, but I couldn’t catch his name. I told him I wasn't that person. He claimed it was for some life insurance review. When I asked who he worked for, he just said "all of them"! Felt a bit dodgy to me, so I just told him I wasn’t interested. He spoke with a South African accent too.

01158712368 Called me up and already knew my name and where I used to live. They said they wanted to update my life insurance info. When I told them my life insurance was handled by my job and asked why they were ringing me myself, they just ended the call. Definitely seems like a scam to me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the Independent Review Team, asked if I was "Julian something." I told them straight away I’m a woman! I said I didn’t know anyone by that name. When I asked them to take my info off their list, he got all defensive and said I was lying to them! I asked to speak with his manager because I found that really rude - surprise, surprise, no manager around. He wouldn’t give me his name and said some people would call me later about my life insurance, then just ended the call. Tried to ring back but the number’s dead.

This call was definitely a scam. You should report every scam call to the police so they can handle it properly. There’s a simple system in place for this - just search ‘Action Fraud’ on Google and head to the UK police website. Then go to the phishing reporting section and scroll down to find the quick report form. No need to sign up or anything. Make sure you add any threats or abusive language in the free text box at the end of the mostly tick-box form. Reporting these scams is important if we want to cut down on these annoying calls!

Someone called saying they worked for Sun Life, Aviva, Vitality, and a few other insurance firms, asking about my Life Insurance. I found out the caller was an Asian woman named Jade Barker who claimed they were located on Abbey or Abbots Road in Nottingham, but couldn’t say the postcode. The number was definitely from Nottingham, and I reckon it was a call centre because they hung up when I questioned it.

My call blocker picked up on this and stopped the phone from ringing since it flagged it as a scam. I had a quick look on here and yeah, it's definitely a dodgy number. Cheers "who called me" for the heads up!

I dont normally pick up calls from unknown numbers, but I figured I would this once. I said hello, then after a few seconds this woman with an accent (sounds like Pakistani) started talking. I told her it was the wrong number and hung up. Ended up blocking the number after that.

Total scam, nearly forgot to block this number from the last time they called. Some rude lady just kept talking about life insurance without letting me get a word in, so I hung up. Got a really pushy and rude call today from some place called "independent review" or something similar. I couldn’t quite catch who they were exactly. They seemed to think they knew me, but they got my name a bit wrong, which was a big red flag. After reading everyone else’s experiences here, I’ve decided to just block the number. Somehow they had my phone number but with my mum's name attached to it. Told them to take my details off their list and never ring me again.

I began the conversation with a simple, "Hello, is this Joe?" Honestly, what kind of professional addresses you by your first name and even shortens it? It struck me as rather odd. I had just set my phone down next to the television, where I was engrossed in a horror flick filled with ominous threats and plenty of screaming! 😂
