Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be insurance for Legal and General, saying my policy was due for renewal. They started explaining their offer, but when they asked for my date of birth, I got a bit wary. I asked why they needed it, and the person said it’s because age affects the price. I then asked them to email me a quote to consider, but they said they couldn’t do that without filling out all my details first. So, I told them I’d speak to my husband and gave them the number for him to call back. After I hung up, I tried to phone back but got some automated message about reaching a 'solutions' line. Not sure what that was about, but I’m definitely ignoring any future calls from them.

I picked up the house phone and someone on the other end was asking for a Mr. C..... I went over to properly speak to them, but all I could hear was some chatter in the background with no one addressing me directly. After a moment of confusion, I hung up and returned to my lunch. It seems like others have flagged this number as being linked to telemarketing or Talk Talk. What a right pain they are!

Got a ring from this number and some bloke was babbling about having talked to me before regarding a virus on my internet or computer. Good thing I’m not daft, I just said we’re on the TPS (though it doesn’t seem to do much) and he hung up sharpish. We’re ex-directory too, so I’m really curious how he even got my details!

I used to receive these annoying calls a lot, but luckily my Panasonic cordless phone has a brilliant call-blocking feature. When I block someone, their call just gets a busy signal and they actually get charged, yet my phone stays silent. Plus, the blocked numbers still show up in the log, so I can track how often they attempt to ring. Also, for anyone with TalkTalk, it’s pretty straightforward to set up blocks for bothersome calls.
