Received two calls from this number today, and they left a voicemail that I couldn't be bothered to listen to. Having had a look at these eight comments, it's clear it's from Eon. I've never had any dealings with them, and I certainly don’t intend to start now!

Probably some call centre trying to sell something. They kept ringing all afternoon. Annoying!

Absolutely a con. There are even individuals on various forums discussing this number, insisting that you need to cough up cash, or they'll terminate your services. Best to disregard them altogether or make a noise through the handset. I've never had any interactions with E.ON, yet I've been approached by a bloke with an Asian accent claiming I have an unpaid bill.

I've been inundated with calls from 89 unknown numbers, ringing me incessantly from the crack of dawn at 6am right through until 11pm. It's absolutely relentless!

I just got a text claiming that I owe money to this company called E On. Honestly, it's ridiculous because I've never had any dealings with them, and I certainly have no intention of starting now! What a total waste of time.

I keep getting these incessant phone calls, and the minute I pick up, I get some robotic voice instructing me to call them back, which I refuse to do. Honestly, it’s high time we put an end to these vexatious calls and held the culprits accountable. Being 81, I certainly don’t need this unwarranted hassle in my life. Despite being ex-directory, it seems my number ends up in some automated system. Is there anyone who might consider starting a petition for the government to take this matter to the House of Commons?
