I received a message from Adecco, the employment agency. When I clicked on the link, a chatbot addressed me by my name. I attempted to ring the number provided, but it wasn’t recognised. So, I clicked on another link for the career assistant instead. I quizzed them about how they acquired my number, only to be informed that their number had been marked as a potential scam. They insisted on answers to their query. I cheekily told them to shove off, even playfully clicking ‘yes’ in response. They then forwarded a link for me to complete a form for a clearance check. Not a chance, I thought!
