So, I got a call from some bloke called Chris claiming to be from an energy firm working in my area. He asked if I was the homeowner, but I told him I’m not, then just said thanks and ended the call. Strange thing is, I’ve received nearly the exact same call from at least three different numbers lately. It’s definitely a dodgy setup. This "Chris" always talks about "your postcode" instead of naming the actual area, and never mentions which energy company he’s with. Feels like it’s just some scam trying to get a foot in the door.

Been getting calls from some bloke with a very typical English accent. He says he’s the local energy efficiency officer but can’t even get my postcode right when I ask. On 25th March, I received a call from this number where a guy claimed to be an energy advisor offering help to reduce energy costs. He mentioned arranging a free home visit to inspect the insulation. He said someone else would ring me soon to set up the appointment. Then, moments later, the same number called back but the caller just went quiet and hung up. I started to get a bit wary and tried ringing back myself, but the automated message said: "The number you have dialled is not recognised."
