I generally steer clear of picking up calls from unfamiliar numbers. After doing a bit of digging on this site, it became clear that this was likely a pesky cold call or perhaps even a scam, so I went ahead and blocked the number. Seriously, when is the government going to take action against these swindlers?

Received a call where they inquired about my name and address, which they managed to recite back to me accurately. When I pointed out that those details were wrong and insisted they’d dialed the incorrect number, they abruptly ended the call. The voice on the line had a hint of an Indian accent, suggesting it might have been a call centre over there.

It was quite obvious it was a phishing attempt! In the end, she hung up, which made me chuckle. Every minute I kept her chatting meant she couldn't bother someone else, and honestly, I find great joy in wasting their time! 😂

As soon as I answered the call and greeted the caller, I noticed background noises akin to an office environment or something resembling a call centre. However, before I could understand what was happening, the line abruptly disconnected.

I received a call from someone with an Asian accent inquiring about a specific individual. I informed them that the person they were looking for was unavailable and made it clear that if they continued to ring my number, I would have no choice but to report their behaviour to the authorities.
