Since I don’t recognise the number, I’ll be giving that call a miss and not bothering to ring back.

Received a phone call claiming to be from a “hearing centre,” wanting to chat about some supposed harm I'd incurred from industrial or military activities. It was rather frustrating, as I had just been in touch with an audiologist, which led me to believe the call might actually be genuine. I inadvertently responded with a “yes” when they asked for my name at the start, a decision I now deeply regret since it seems that many con artists exploit such responses for their schemes.
