On the 21st of April 2022, I got a phone call from someone claiming to be with British Gas. I'd already chatted with British Gas before regarding a smart meter. This call was trying to get me to agree to a contract. I didn’t say anything back and looked up the number afterwards. Turned out it was definitely a scam.

Some bloke rang me saying he was from British Gas, said my contract was due for renewal within a year. But the funny thing is, he didn’t have a clue about my actual contract end date - told me he wasn’t part of the billing team and only had my meter number. If he was asking about renewing, why wouldn’t he know when my contract finishes? Seemed a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call the other day claiming they could cut my energy bills. Turned out to be one of those sneaky scams trying to get my details. Definitely a dodgy one to watch out for!
