I received a call from someone who claimed to have obtained my number through my internet service provider, insisting that he could provide me with an amazing phone package. When I probed him further, he turned quite unpleasant. I asked to escalate the matter to his supervisor, but he insisted he was the top dog and refused to delete my number from their records. I told him to cease this unsolicited call, and he merely chuckled in response. I mentioned that I would be lodging a complaint and promptly ended the conversation. Not long after, he rang me again, insisting that I couldn’t report him. What a complete fool!

I didn't pick up when they called, but I looked up the number afterwards and saw it’s a VOIP number, which basically means it’s made online and can be from anywhere across the globe. Usually, these are used by scam operations, often from Indian call centres, trying to make it seem like they’re based in the UK. These numbers tend to be temporary and not around for long, and if you try ringing back, you’ll probably find they don’t answer at all.
