Got a ring from 01147002677 but didn’t answer. Then a robotic voice left a message, telling me to call back right away or else I'd "face the consequences". They even mentioned that either me or my solicitor should return the call - curious what would happen if I sent my lawyer instead! Sounds like one of those HMRC scams, so definitely don’t ring them back! The bit at the end made me laugh though - “thank you” and “take care” - after basically threatening legal trouble!

Got a call from 01147002677 today, they left an automated message saying they were from the tax office. It was pretty obvious it was a scam, but still felt quite threatening. Watch out, could be dodgy!

Got a recorded call claiming it was from HMRC, saying that if I or my lawyer didn’t call them right away, they’d issue an arrest warrant. Total scam.

Got a voicemail saying “Inland Revenue” threatening some kind of legal trouble if I didn’t ring them back straight away. This is the second time they’ve called in a couple of months. Just leave it and block the number. If the Inland Revenue need to get in touch, they’ll send a letter and use your actual name. Definitely just scammers having a laugh.
