Since some of my relatives live in Sheffield, I picked up the phone. I kept saying hello, but no one spoke back, just silence.

Got a call on a Saturday from someone with a strange accent, they called me by my first name. I said I was busy at work and asked if there was anyone else there with me, and if it was something urgent... then they just ended the call. When I tried to call the number back it was working fine, so that was suspicious. Usually if it’s out of service, it's a scam. Anyway, added them straight to my block list.

I usually don’t answer numbers I don’t recognise. I only have one mate in Sheffield and there’s no way they’d ring me from this number. Honestly, the safest thing is to block them or put them on a “never answer” list. Even though I’m on the TPS “Do not call” register, these irritating calls keep coming through.
