Got a call from someone claiming to be Currys. They wanted to speak to a Luke, but I told them I had no idea who that was. They said sorry and hung up pretty quickly. Then, about two minutes later, I got a text thanking me for using some sort of flex plan account??? I've never shopped at Currys, let alone opened any account with them or any other shop. Seriously, no clue who this Luke person is!!!

I didn’t recognise the number, so I chose not to pick up. The caller didn’t bother leaving a message either. After a bit of digging, it seems this number has been marked as a potential scam.

Blocking numbers aint really gonna help against scammers coz they just ring you again from loads of different fake or spoofed UK numbers. Blocking might just stop a proper caller. This one’s actually from Currys. Best thing to do to get rid of scammers is report them straight to the police through the Action Fraud phishing report system.

I got a washing machine and the very next day they rang me up, real quick, asking if I wanted to buy a warranty from Currys. I said no, and then the bloke just hung up on me. After that, I'm definitely not gonna buy anything from Currys anymore.

I also got a call from them. The guy asked me why I bought a dishwasher and stuff. Tried to sell me insurance but I said I already got it. Then he started asking weird questions about problems with parking near the house or something, I didn’t really get it. I asked him what he meant and then he just hung up on me.

Seems like a last roll of the dice to push an extended warranty on me, but they’re wasting their time since I’m not interested. My parcel is with DPD now, so I’ll mark that number as neutral and probably block it. It was flagged as potential spam on my phone anyway.

He claimed to be calling from Curry’s and already had my name and details of my purchase. He asked if the delivery had been alright and why I bought it. Then he tried to get me to sign up for some insurance at £1.75 a month. I said no, and then he just hung up on me.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from Curry's about a washing machine delivery I have on Sunday. She started asking if I wanted a repair care plan for £3.60 a month. I said yes at first, but the moment I refused to share my bank card info, she just ended the call straight away. Felt really dodgy to me. Never share your card details over the phone, not even with your own bank. Pretty sure it was a scam.

Yep, I can verify this is Curry’s. I got the same call a couple of times and when I picked up they already had info about something I’d just purchased. While I was chatting to the guy, my partner phoned Curry’s customer service directly and they confirmed the number is genuine, and that they really do provide warranty support for your items. They did mention though there are some scammers pretending to be them, so best to stay cautious.

I got a call from Curry’s about my delivery that’s due soon. The guy asked if I wanted to go through data protection questions but I said no since he called me first. He said he could give me the info in a more general way if I wasn’t comfortable with the usual security stuff. Ive noticed quite a few folks saying it’s Currys PC World calling. Ive only had this number for about 4 days and havent bought anything yet. Then suddenly the call just dropped. Could've been a mix-up on their side. I already got a 5-year warranty from Currys PC when I bought online, and they had no idea about this call.
