Got a call just now but no one spoke, was a bit weird.

Got a call from some law office about a car crash I had a couple years back. I just told them to shove it.

They called me claiming to be from 02, and when I hesitated, they started pushing harder. I told them I was pretty sure it wasn’t a real 02 number, then they warned me that hanging up would cost me £100 - that’s when I was certain it was a scam.

Advice for older folks: avoid picking up calls from numbers you don't recognise. A lot of the time, they’re sneaky scammers trying to con you. If it’s a legitimate call, they’ll usually leave you a voicemail. And if you’re unsure, it’s always best to pause and maybe ask someone before getting back to them.

I've simply stopped answering those calls altogether. I've set my phone to silence any unknown numbers, and whenever a call does come through, I look up the number online. If it pops up as a scam, I promptly block it. It's infuriating, though, because those muppets just switch numbers every few days and keep pestering me. I attempted to tally how many I've blocked so far, but I lost interest after hitting 556! 🤯

What a nuisance! I answered the call with a friendly “hello,” but there was nothing but a deafening silence for a good four seconds. Suddenly, out of the blue, someone just yelled and promptly disconnected! Absolutely ridiculous!
