Same here, I’ve got the same kinda call a while back. They left a voicemail though. I just listened to it quickly and then got rid of the message straight away.

I didn’t answer the phone but they left a message. It was some American guy claiming to be from robocop or something, telling me to get in touch with HMRC or I’d be in serious trouble.

I got one of those calls too, sounded like some robot girl with all sorts of threats, really creepy. Rang the number back and a bloke picked up right away. Gave him a piece of my mind and, wouldn't you know it, he just ended the call on me!

I got a call from someone calling himself Robert Cooper (sounds fake to me). He asked if I had a lawyer or solicitor, but his accent was so thick I could hardly understand a word. When I questioned him about it, he just ended the call abruptly.

Got a message from some automated lady saying she was Tracey Bell from HMRC. She was all threatening, saying if me or my lawyer didn’t ring them back about some urgent issue, there’d be legal trouble waiting for me. Hilarious, honestly :D Pretty clear it was just a scammer trying it on!

I've gotten a few calls from this number with a robotic woman warning me I was going to be arrested. After hearing about these kinds of scams, I just blocked it and so far no one’s come after me. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call from the same robotic woman, she just hung up after I caught "HMTC" in her spiel. I called back straight away and some bloke with a sub-continental accent picked up, but he ended the call as soon as I told him it was a scam.

Hi, this is Glen Smith here. The caller didn’t sound anything like me, more like he had an Indian accent or something. He kept going on about income tax stuff and told me not to interrupt while he was speaking! I nearly burst out laughing, but in the end I just hung up - pretty sure it was a total scam!

They said they were from some place called the "H and M R C" and told me to just put the phone down. I couldn’t stop laughing, such a rubbish scam.

Got a call claiming to be from HMRC, rang them back and some guy from India picked up straight away. Honestly, HMRC never answers that quick, so something felt off.

Like some folks have mentioned, this robotic lady gave me a shady warning before kindly reminding me to make sure I finish it off properly. Honestly, it cracked me up, so I saved the message to have a giggle over it again another time! :-)

I didn’t pick up, but they left some robotic voicemail. sounded like an dodgy yankee with an accent telling me to ring some Sheffield number, otherwise I’d need a solicitor or I'd be in legal trouble or something. yeah right, not happening. blocked straight away!

Twice now I’ve gotten a call from someone claiming to be HMRC saying there’s a warrant out for my arrest over unpaid taxes. They demand you pay whatever you can and make you stay on the line, then send you to buy bonds from a shop. If you try to end the call or refuse, they warn you will be arrested at home. I told them I’d hang up and report it to the police, but barely got the words out before they cut me off!

Was quite taken aback when I got a voicemail from a number I thought was just more spam. Like others have said, it was this robotic woman with an American accent warning me about some serious trouble if I or my lawyer didn't ring back straight away. The bit that really got me was her cheerful "have a nice day" sign off - felt totally out of place! I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.
