The actual area code is 01142 but these days there are loads of variations usually adding 2 or 3 digits after the original code. If I do pick up by mistake and it’s just silence with some faint background noise like a control room, I make a point of saying clearly "This number is no longer in service for incoming calls." It has helped reduce some of those annoying calls for me.
