Got a call from some bloke about NHS COVID stuff and then he started asking about life insurance. When I said I wasn’t going to share who I’m insured with, he just ended the call straight away. I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with the NHS Covid Task Force. He asked for my health insurance info, saying it was to have it on file in case I had any side effects from the vaccine and could claim from the government later. I refused to share my details and told him to take me off their list - this was actually the second time they’d phoned me. After that, he snapped, saying if I got Covid, I shouldn’t bother contacting them, then just hung up. Really rude and not open to any discussion. Best to just ignore these calls.

I got a call yesterday from a different number but the same NHS Covid taskforce claim. The person on the line was speaking with an Indian accent. I just told them to fuck off and that they need to stop trying to scam folks like me. Of course I blocked the number, though I doubt that'll do much good. There definitely ought to be some laws forcing phone providers to stop these callers from having access to our info and using what look like UK landline numbers.

This number has called me about ten times now. The last time they rang, my wife picked up and they were asking for me by name. She told them I wasn’t around and then they just went quiet and ended the call.

Got a call from someone saying it was about the national debt, then they just cut off. Seemed really dodgy to me.

So, this bloke called me saying he was from a debt collection agency. He was trying to frighten me, but it didn’t work at all. He kept calling me a liar over the phone, insisting I owed money and told me to quit lying. When I asked him about the debts, he refused to give any details. I told him he was just after my bank info. He kept getting all aggressive, so I told him to stop or I’d report him. Then I ended the call because he was getting quite hostile.

SCAM ALERT! If you get calls or messages like this, make sure you report them straight away to the police fraud centre. Just search for ‘action fraud’ and head over to ‘police.uk’. Find the section for reporting phishing scams and take the time to read all the info. Then you can submit the details about the scam, including links or web addresses if you have them. You don’t need to sign up or give personal info unless it’s a case where you’ve actually lost money. The more we report this rubbish, the better chance the police have to track and stop these crooks.

I've posted a couple times about what needs to be done to put an end to these pesky overseas scammers who target the vulnerable and bug the rest of us. It’s a bit of a hassle, but I’ve taken the time to report all scam calls and texts through the police database (I keep the link saved in my favourites). The thing is, it’s gonna take loads of people doing this regularly before we see any real change. Thousands of folks report scam calls on here daily, but quick results won’t happen. Still, if nobody bothers to report them, these scam calls are just gonna keep happening nonstop.

I received a call today from the number 01143869539, and I must say, it left me rather perturbed. The individual on the line was attempting to extract my card information, speaking in English but with a strong Indian accent. He claimed to be representing Citizens Advice and was supposedly reaching out regarding my debts, but I quickly realised that was far from the truth. He went through my financial situation in great detail, stating that the government had me on some sort of list. His aim was to establish a monthly ‘repayment’ plan with me, which felt rather dubious. What truly alarmed me was how much personal information he had at his disposal, which was enough to make one question the authenticity of the call. However, when I mentioned I could only afford to pay £1 a month instead of the £80 he suggested, he abruptly told me to go to a branch and hung up. That was my wake-up call; it was clearly a scam. It’s disheartening to think there are people out there preying on those already facing financial hardships. I’ve been recovering from cancer for over five years now, unable to work and relying on benefits through no fault of my own. I was managing my debts reasonably well until this illness struck, and now it feels like they just keep piling up. I'm currently on a waiting list for an operation, and the uncertainty is overwhelming. I truly hope sharing my experience helps others dodge this ghastly scheme and protects them from losing more of their hard-earned money.

I'm receiving this call on a daily basis now, claiming I owe money for damage to the property. I’ve checked with the council, and they've assured me it’s not a call from them. Besides, my home is in perfect condition, so I can tell it’s utter nonsense. They keep insisting they're from the housing association or something. The callers tend to have an Indian accent but speak English well. Honestly, I'm becoming quite exasperated with these persistent nuisance calls.
