My phone went off and I didn’t pick up. Right after that, I got a call from a spam number I recognised, so I just blocked it straight away. I reckon they ring once with a random number to check if the phone is active, and then if you pick up or your answerphone kicks in, they ring you back from the spammy one.

Right after I finished with my banking app, my phone rang out of the blue. I reckon it was just luck, but I picked up and stayed silent. They ended the call within a couple of seconds, which made me think it wasn’t legit. A real person would’ve said something. I’ve just gone ahead and blocked the number.
