Fraudsters at work! I received an email claiming that my McAfee subscription is now set to renew at a staggering £629 annually. Absolutely no association with them whatsoever!

I got an email pretending to be from Paypal that included a PDF attachment showing a McAfee subscription for 3 years costing £190, thanking me for signing up. It had a phone number to call, saying I could cancel within 24 hours. Soon after the email arrived, I'd get calls from that same number claiming Paypal was contacting me because they thought I’d fallen victim to a fake McAfee deal and they’d help fix it. Turns out, it’s a scam run by a foreign call centre, and the people on the phone speak with Indian accents.

I got a call from someone claiming to be Paypal, telling me that £190 was about to be taken from my account for a McAfee subscription that supposedly lasts three years. Definitely a scam number, so watch out!
