This number keeps ringing me in the morning but I always ignore it since I don’t pick up calls from unknown numbers or names. They’ve never left a voicemail either, and I remember my late wife used to say that if it was really urgent, they’d leave a message. I’m quite old now, so my tip is just don’t answer. AB

Got a call earlier today from a woman with a strange accent, claiming to be from Microsoft and saying my email had been hacked. I told her I wasn’t able to sort it out then and just hung up. A little while later she phoned again, repeating the same thing. So I switched my phone off completely. I’m 81 years old and have had a stroke before, so this kind of stress isn’t good for me. Isn’t there any way to stop these annoying calls?

This number has rung me a few times now. My go-to is blasting music at full blast and leaving the phone on the speaker by the radio - maybe they’ll get a shock and stop calling!!! Caller ID: 01143601694

Received a call from this number today claiming there was an issue with my computer. I quickly told them it was a scam and that I'd report the number. After that, the caller began threatening me, so I just hung up. Number was 01143601694.

Got a call from an Asian bloke named 'Michael' saying my computer was infected with a virus. I told him the only virus I had was the man flu and he was just wasting his time and mine. Also told 'Michael' he was a muppet before slamming the phone down. Surely one of the phone networks can track this number and pass the info to the police.

Got a call from this number today around 11.57am, some woman claiming to be from a computer firm. I told her straight to piss off and stop bothering me, especially since I’m on the telephone preference list and shouldn’t be getting calls like that. This sort of company really ought to be reported to the authorities. There’s loads of these cold calls coming through - I’m getting several every day now. I only picked up this one cos I was expecting a call from my GP, but honestly, I’m almost at the point where I won’t even bother answering the phone anymore.

The caller ignored my typical 'scam' response and claimed I wouldn’t be able to use my computer anymore. Complete nonsense. This needs to be cracked down on because less experienced folks might fall for it - clearly some must or they wouldn’t get paid, right? They really ought to be called out for this.

Just got a ring from this number but didn’t have my phone close by. Bet they'll ring again before the day’s done. Hope they do ‘cause I’m ready to give them a piece of me mind!

Got a call today from an Asian guy claiming he was from Microsoft, said my computer had some issues. I told him my computer’s fine and that this was clearly a scam, and threatened to ring the police. He just stayed quiet and cut the call straight away.

Haha, Microsoft again, with all those annoying 'critical errors' popping up. Telling me to reboot my computer and all that rubbish. Do these folks hang around Sheffield or what? Honestly, how can they still be running scams like this?

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from Microsoft. I told him I bet he was gonna say my PC had some problem. That seemed to throw him off a bit and he got quite pushy. He threatened to block my computer so I just told him to go ahead and I’d stay on the line while he did it. Unsurprisingly, he ended the call straight away. Proper dodgy and easy to fall for if you’re not careful.

Got phone calls from this bloke Daniel two times today - he claims he's from Microsoft. Even when I told him my lad works as a software developer and would sort out the computer, he didn’t back off. Surely a con! I'm quite clued-up about these things, but it worries me because they go after my elderly mum, who's a bit too trusting. Really hope they get stopped soon.

Got a ring from this number earlier, claiming to be from Microsoft tech support. I played along and asked which operating system I use, and he guessed totally wrong - obvious scam. Then after a bit he got all shirty and said he’d lock my computer. I tried to lighten the mood by asking about the weather, but he just swore at me and hung up. - caller: Mike Thompson

Got a call from an Asian guy who told me his name and said he was ringing about my Microsoft Windows computer, asked if that was alright. I said yeah, then he just ended the call. Looks like another dodgy scam attempt! Not the sharpest, are they?

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent claiming to be from Microsoft, saying my PC was infected with a virus. I told her I’m on the TPS and asked where she got my number from. She acted like she didn’t get it, so I told her to take me off her list. She just hung up. Doesn’t seem to stop though, as the same number keeps ringing anytime, day or night, usually with the same nonsense. Sometimes it’s even silent calls. There really ought to be a way to sort this mess out.

They claim to be with Microsoft and insist it’s legit, but I keep getting these calls all the time. They tell you to sign into your PC, then take you to some place full of fake "warnings" and ask if they can get remote control to "sort it out". Total scam!

Got two calls today, first one at 7:55am - I told them it was a silly hour to be ringing. Second one at 10:28, some Asian bloke said my computer was showing error messages, asked him which one since I’ve got two, he didn’t seem to get the idea of having two computers. He just rambled on nonsense, so I told him to jog on. These scammers are proper dodgy and annoying.

Ring 10/11/15 around 3.45pm. Voice had a strong Indian/ Pakistani tone. Obvious Microsoft scam. Let him keep yapping, then told him the scam was ancient and called him a proper numpty before telling him to jog on. Number from Sheffield starting Tel[###]. I told him I didn’t have any problems and if I ever did, I’d ask my grandson who knows all about computers. Then I just hung up. These types of calls keep coming and I don’t get why, since my number’s unlisted.

Got a call at half past seven this morning claiming to be from Microsoft or something. I just ended the call straight away. Then they rang back right away wanting to know why I cut off. Told them and slammed down again! After that, they’ve tried ringing me twice more from that same number. So annoying!

A man with a foreign accent rang my old dad, claiming his computer was hacked. Somehow, the caller got my dad to give a licence number for his computer, which made the whole thing feel real to him! They allegedly guided him through some steps to fix the issue! Watch out, these con artists are really convincing. I’ve told my dad to always check with a proper computer firm about anything like this now. Best thing is just to put the phone down straight away!

This morning about 8 o'clock, I got a call from this number, with a lady speaking Indian accent saying she worked for some IT firm and my PC had been compromised recently. She wanted me to switch my computer on so she could check things out. I told her I'd only do that if she gave me her full name, where she lives and her bank info. Watch out, definitely a con! The caller was from 0114 360 1694.

Avoid this number at all costs. The people behind it aren’t genuine and try to trick you. They told me to ring 02032869239, but that’s a well-known premium rate line that’s been flagged loads of times. It’s completely dodgy.

A man with an Asian accent called, his English wasn’t great. He said he was from Microsoft and asked if I was on my computer. I said yes, even though I wasn’t. He got me to press some keys and tell him what appeared, but I just said I saw a blank screen. Then he tried to fish out my bank details, mumbling something about a £1000 deposit into my account. I gave him made-up account numbers and codes. He asked where I banked, I lied and gave a fake place. Then he asked for my address; I started with a false one, but he must’ve already known my real name and address because he hung up!

This number rang me earlier today, claiming to be from 'Microsoft Windows' about some virus found on my computer. Bit funny considering we only run Apple Macs here! Didn't really get the chance to play along and waste their time, so I just told them exactly what I thought of their dodgy scam, using some colourful language. If these scammers don’t want a bit of verbal abuse, then maybe they shouldn’t be pestering me with calls! ;-)

Got a call from a lady with a foreign accent who said her name was Susanne. She claimed to be calling from Microsoft about an issue with my computer. I asked “Which computer?” but she didn’t really have an answer! We went back and forth about me turning the computer on, then I asked to speak to her boss. An Asian gentleman came on, said he was a Senior Technician, but by then I’d had enough and just hung up.

Got a call from a man claiming to be from Microsoft. He said our security settings were compromised and offered a new licence key to fix it. He gave his name as Michael Jeffery Brown. When we said we wanted our IT bloke to speak to him, he refused and insisted only he could guide us through the process. He wouldn’t share his phone number but promised to ring us back. After chatting with our computer guy, he reckoned it was a dodgy call, so when the man rang again, I made some excuse and just ended the call. We asked him where he was calling from and he said 1800 Cardinal Place, Victoria, London.

I’ve noticed that gents who pick up the phone tend to get off the line pretty sharpish. But if a lady answers, they seem to stick around longer, especially if she acts a bit daft. I get quite a kick out of chatting with the likes of John Smith and Peter Jones. When they give their name, I just say, “Ah yes, that figures.” Then I mess about, asking them to hold on as I’m juggling a couple of computers at once. When I feel like wrapping it up, I get my mate with the accent to pop in and ask if they believe in karma, then warn them someone might try to nick their cash, before going on about how I own an Apple. It’s a silly game, but it makes the calls more entertaining.
