I received a phone call claiming to be from Credit UK regarding some unsecured debt. I informed them that I had no such debt and asked them to repeat their company's name because I'm registered on the no-call list. They promptly disconnected the call.

This number, 01143 258 799, kept ringing me up over and over, sometimes at really odd hours when I was trying to sleep. I just let my answerphone deal with it since they never bothered to leave a voicemail. After checking some comments here, it seems like they could be dodgy. Once, last year, a caller with an Indian accent rang, and I asked if they had any family. They said yes, so I then asked how they’d feel if someone ripped their family off. That seemed to set them off big time - they started shouting at me and called me all sorts of horrible names.

I find myself reluctantly picking up the landline, anticipating it could be my elderly mother’s Telecare service, which always puts me on edge. There’s nothing quite like the anxiety of being jolted awake by that phone. Thankfully, tonight it wasn’t her, but rather a chap with an Indian accent, insisting he was calling about a tax refund related to a claim I never even submitted. Quite frustrating, to say the least! Surely there must be better measures in place to prevent these sorts of nuisance calls from happening?

Rang me at 7:50 on a Saturday morning! The voicemail kicked in, but they didn’t bother to leave any message. I’ve now gone ahead and blocked that number.

I've been bombarded by this number over the past week and a bit, ringing me roughly ten or eleven times to ask for my IBAN. They claim they need it to process a refund of either £199 or £119, insisting it was wrongly charged when I took out a policy for my washing machine. They present themselves as the refund department of Domestic and General. However, when I reached out to D & G, they denied any affiliation with this lot. It's concerning how they already have my personal details, including my name and address, not to mention the fact I do indeed have an appliance insured with them.

I received no voicemail from this number, so I’m inclined to treat it as a potential scam. This isn’t the first time I’ve encountered this number, and the absence of any message is rather suspicious.

This morning, I received two calls from the same number, claiming they had all my details and that I was owed a tax refund. They requested my email address and insisted they didn’t have any financial records on file. I mean, really? The tax office lacking such information seems a bit far-fetched if you ask me. I firmly told the caller that the tax office never gets in touch via phone; it's always done through post, never by a call. I couldn’t help but suspect that asking for my email was just a sneaky way to send me something dodgy that could compromise my computer. The caller seemed rather peeved when I challenged her on how tax refunds operate over here in the UK.

I received a call from this number, and my daughter answered it. She handed the phone to me, and to my shock, there was a bloke on the line mimicking a child sobbing! It's utterly twisted what some individuals will resort to on the other end of the line!

I received reports that someone has been phoning my elderly parents, masquerading as a representative from Domestic & General. They’ve been asking for their banking information under the pretense of returning money due to overpayments. My mother is feeling quite distressed by this, particularly as it doesn’t seem to be the first occurrence of such calls. It’s becoming rather bothersome for her.

They called me up, insisting they were ringing to sort out a tax refund. It was so clearly a ruse that I ended the call straight away.

Received a call from someone insisting on chatting with my father-in-law. Things turned rather heated when he refused to confirm he was the individual they were after. The caller wouldn’t disclose their identity or the purpose of the call, which only made matters worse. My father-in-law, who’s 86, ended up feeling quite threatened by the whole exchange.
