Callers often know personal details, use foreign accents, and pressure recipients to access or fix their internet or computer systems. Just got a call on our landline from 01143219900. It was a woman with a foreign accent claiming to be from BT Openreach, saying something about our internet. Trouble was, the line kept cutting out so I couldn’t really hear much of what she was saying. She did ask if I was the account holder though, even used my name. Since we actually get our broadband from another provider, I was pretty sure it was a scam. The call didn’t last long as it dropped while she was still trying to explain. Honestly, these calls are just annoying, and who knows what bad intentions lie behind them.

Got a call today claiming to be from Microsoft, saying there was unusual activity on my PC or something like that. I asked the guy for his phone number and he gave me 0344 8002400. I ended the call, did a 1471 to see where it came from and it was from 01143219900. When I looked up the 0344 number it does seem to be Microsoft, so I reckon the real scam was from the 0114 number calling me.

Below you’ll find info on how to use the police’s system designed to make it straightforward for anyone to report scam phone calls, texts, emails, and other frauds. I only got this after raising the ridiculous amount of scam calls I kept getting with my MP. Honestly, these scammers hope you never find out about this stuff. If you just ignore these scams and don’t report them, don’t be surprised when they continue without any consequences.

Some bloke called saying he was from BT, but I told him I don’t have BT at all. Then he goes on saying all providers use BT lines anyway. I replied nah, mine doesn’t. He got all annoyed once I didn’t buy into their nonsense. Proper scam if you ask me.

Today, I received a phone call at 8:07 from someone who identified himself as Jack calling from BT concerning my internet connection. However, I had no issues with my internet, so I quickly ended the call. I took the precaution of blocking the number, but to my surprise, I received another call from the same number at 8:21. This time, the caller introduced herself as Julia from BT Openreach. She asked for Mrs *****, using my first name. When I clarified that she had the wrong person, she proceeded to quote my address. Realizing something was amiss, I promptly hung up. Despite being registered with the TPS for years, these scam calls consistently evade their control. Accordingly, I have reported the number to "action fraud" and sincerely hope they undertake appropriate measures to address this issue.

Like a lot of others here, I got a call from a lady claiming to be from Microsoft, with an Indian accent. I had to shout at my kids to pack up their Fortnite game quickly while I dealt with her. She kept me on the line for about ten minutes while I pretended to be this big shot who desperately needed his computer fixed. When I finally told her to buzz off, she suddenly dropped the call. Typical scam!
