Every day it's a new number calling, like 01143036597 or 01268517247, 01873818493, 01887224588, 01224660467 … all of 'em scammers for sure. They speak with an Asian accent and their English isn’t very clear at all. Really irritating when they keep pushing you to say yes or no to really personal stuff. They ring you up early in the morning or late at night, asking rehearsed questions with loud background noise. Fingers crossed this nonsense ends soon.

Feels like my phone’s on some dodgy list, always getting calls from scammers or shady folks. One block and another pops up right after. Proper fed up with these muppets trying to trick you. Then, not long after, I got a voicemail with some angry Indian bloke yelling about how I should only do what my boyfriend says and that he wanted to speak to my boyfriend. Parts of it were hard to understand, like he wasn’t fully speaking English or something. Honestly, it was pretty creepy.

What puzzles me about these sorts of calls is how they already know your first name. Like, where do they find that out? I got a call from an Indian lady who instantly used my first name and started chatting about insurance. I said I wasn’t interested, but she just kept going on and on until I had to hang up. I then blocked their number on my phone because they can’t ring my landline anymore - it’s just broadband now. So now they just try the mobile instead, but seriously, how do they have all this info? Feels like it must be from the dark web or something shady like that.

Got a really rude woman on the phone, said her name was Leigh and claimed she worked for different insurance firms. She said my ‘policy’ needed reviewing. They had my name and address but seemed clueless if I actually had insurance or who through - just told policies need checking. I didn’t confirm my address or say if I smoke. Knew my review wasn’t due, so kept quiet. She kept pushing to cut my costs but got quite pushy and talked right over me when I suggested she was just trying to get info. I just hung up.

Then they said, "If you change jobs, you lose your cover, right?" I just told them I was fine with my current insurance and ended the call. Blocked the number straight away.
