When I asked how they knew, they had no answer. Definitely not legit - just cold calling to try a scam. When I said I owned the house, they hung up. They rang my landline and I actually picked up, which I usually never do. But I had a headache and ended up answering some of their questions without thinking. They only ended the call when I slipped up and said yes, which I was trying hard not to say. Not really sure if that’s a bad thing or if I need to take any action now!

If you’re on housing benefit, watch out for this scam. How they got my name is beyond me. The line was awful with loads of static. I told the woman, who sounded Chinese, it was a scam but she said no, so I just ended the call.
