Got a call on our home phone from 01142679432, some bloke said he was with the TPS and wanted to "improve" our setup to block spam calls. I said it sounded dodgy and asked if it was a scam, but he insisted it wasn't and even mentioned my name, which I didn’t say out loud. I asked for an email to follow up, but he dodged it and wanted my details instead. Then the line just cut off. Yeah, I reckon that was a scam, no doubt about it.

got a call from someone claiming to be from the telephone preference service team. she said she could stop unwanted calls for me, but i just told her i'd be blocking her number instead. waste of time!

This number called my stepmum pretending to be from BT. They said they knew her name, address, and that she paid by direct debit. She got really suspicious and hung up. They tried calling back later but she just didn’t answer.
