Got a recorded call saying HMRC are taking legal action against me. Absolutely rubbish and really scary for anyone who might think it’s legit. Such a dodgy scam!

My mum got a call from this number saying she owed the tax office £1250 and that if she didn’t pay up, she’d be taken to court. They even told her to go to the local shop and buy iTunes vouchers to sort it out. It’s clearly a scam but it’s a bit scary because they already had her name and address.
