I got a call from this number earlier today, and some bloke with a foreign accent said his name was Raoul. He claimed he was checking my internet connection. When I asked which company I use for broadband, he just told me to "bugger off" and then cut me off. Quite rude, if you ask me!

This number rang me earlier today. I was certain it was a scam but decided to keep the caller chatting for more than 20 minutes while my PC was starting up - they even claimed their servers showed it was running sluggish! After letting it finish its regular backup, I kept saying things like "yeah, it’s really slow, isn’t it?" Following their orders, I tried to open Teamviewer but kept messing it up, probably clicking the wrong buttons or whatever. Then a bloke called "Adam" sent me a link - something like goo.gl/?????. Got fed up at that point and told him I was onto their scam and had just wasted his time to stop him bothering others. He immediately hung up!

Got a call saying my internet was infected and they were watching it. I'm pretty savvy with computers and there's no way I've got a virus. Plus, they can't even tell what number I'm on or if I even use broadband. Total scam, nothing but frauds.

Got a call from 01142360311 claiming to be tech support for my internet. They said my computer was linked to their server all the time and that it might be infected with a virus. When I asked which broadband company they were with, they mentioned a few providers but not mine. I told them I wasn’t interested and ended the call. Has anyone reported this to the police or anything? This has been happening for ages now. Also, why does their number still show up on 1471? Feels a bit dodgy to me.

Got a ring from this number, and it was obvious it was a scam or phishing attempt. A guy with an Asian accent said he was from the "TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT OF YOUR INTERNET PROVIDER" - never mentioned any company name! He insisted there was an issue with my broadband. I just told him straight up, "Nonsense, I don’t even have broadband." Then, out of nowhere, the call just cut off, which was a bit odd.

Got a call earlier today from someone using that same spiel. When I asked who they were representing, they just ended the call straight away. I might’ve sounded a bit harsh, maybe she expected me to rant like they usually do. The woman said her name was 'Jennifer', apparently.

Got a call today from an Asian guy claiming he was from my internet provider. I asked him which company he was with, but he just muttered something unclear. When I pushed again, he suddenly said BT. That’s odd because I’m with Virgin fibre and don’t even have any BT connection. Then he just dropped the call. Honestly, why doesn’t OFCOM take action against these sorts of calls? They have the phone number, so tracking these fraudsters shouldn’t be that hard.

Today, I got a call from an Asian guy using the number 01142360311, saying there's something wrong with my server. When I asked him to say who he was actually calling, he stuttered and seemed unsure. I just told him to bugger off. Honestly, it felt really satisfying!

Got a call from this number earlier, claiming to be from my internet provider but never actually specifying who they were or using my name, which made me suspicious straight away. They said there was some sort of fault locally and asked for a couple of minutes, but I declined. When I asked where exactly they were calling from, the person snapped, saying they’d already mentioned it at the start. I told them no, they hadn’t. Then they said they were from both BT and Virgin, which made me laugh since I don't use BT at all. I was quick to say if I had any issues, I’d ring my provider myself and definitely wouldn’t do anything over the phone, so they shouldn’t bother calling me again. My parents have been hassled like this several times too, it’s really scary how many people fall for these nasty scams.

got a call from the same number today, the person said she was from teamviewer. she told me to install the teamviewer web and then asked for my id and password. i felt something was off so i asked why she needed it. then i said i need to check with my husband first. she got really annoyed, started swearing and just hung up on me.

Hey, I got a call just like this, supposedly from VirginNet. I asked the bloke a few questions and he ended up swearing at me then threatened to kill me since he already had my number and address. I called the police on 101, which is what they said is the non-emergency line now. After that, I followed their advice and reported everything to ACTION Fraud at http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/. Thought I’d share in case it helps someone else.

This number kept calling me but I was never around to answer until today. When I picked up, a man with an Indian accent claimed he was from some internet security firm linked to my broadband provider. He used the usual lines about having detected a problem with my PC or something. I asked him straight up to name my broadband company, but he just rambled on about his security company again. When I pressed him once more, he suddenly got silent and then just hung up. Looking back, I probably should have acted along just to see how long I could mess with him and waste his time.

Got a call from a woman around 4:40 this afternoon, basically running the same spiel. When I asked her how I could be sure she was legit, she got a bit annoyed and kept asking how I wanted to confirm it. I could tell she wasn’t gonna budge, so I just ended the call. The script she used was pretty sharp and she had it down pat. Oddly enough, the call came right after I'd been chatting with my internet supplier, which made it seem more believable.

Got a call from a bloke around 8 o'clock in the evening. He claimed to be from some tech support team for my broadband. I had a gut feeling it was a dodgy scam, but I played along and asked him to say it again just to be sure. After that, I ended the call straight away!

I got a call from someone saying they were from Virgin Internet’s tech support, asking if I was satisfied with my connection speed. I told them I was over the moon with it, and they just seemed kinda uninterested, thanked me, and then ended the call. Honestly, it feels a bit odd how these companies bother you like this, and it’s such a pointless waste of time. I can’t imagine they actually win any customers by doing it like this.

I just got a ring from this number claiming to be "Technical Support" about issues with my broadband. I told them everything was fine, but they insisted, saying "Every time you connect online, your computer has corrupt files." When I asked which company they were with, they named Virgin Media, Talk Talk, BT and Sky all at once! That’s when I cut them off and told them to stop wasting my time and never call again. Honestly, if I'd had more time, I’d have wasted theirs properly - had a bit of fun with it! :o)))

Got a call from someone claiming to be Sky, said my internet was slow and they’d clear out all the corrupted files. Asked them a couple times if they really worked for Sky and they kept saying yes. Felt a bit dodgy when they said my Norton wasn’t compatible and offered me an antivirus that lasts for 9 years! Told them to jog on and ended the call. Later checked with Sky, and turns out it was a total scam.

Got me good, someone rang saying they were from TalkTalk. I phoned TalkTalk straight away and they said it wasn't them at all. Apparently, someone’s pretending to be TalkTalk to try and get into people’s computers, including their own customers. Well, that’s it for me with TalkTalk - I’m gonna look for a better ISP that actually cares about its customers. Properly annoyed about this!

Got a call from this number on 28/03/13 claiming they were from TalkTalk, saying there was an issue with the internet in my area. They asked me to visit www.teamviewer.com and click on JOIN REMOTE CONTROL SESSION, then tell them the code that appeared, which I foolishly did. After that, I noticed my computer being messed with and realised they had control of it. The guy said he was transferring me to a senior manager. Then another man came on and said my computer was full of viruses. I asked how that could be possible since I've got NORTON antivirus installed. I told them I wasn’t convinced they were really from TalkTalk and asked for his name. He then called me a F...ing name and threatened to wreck my computer. I told him I’d report it to the police and hung up straight away.

My other half nearly got caught up in it, he was about to go onto some dodgy site that the bloke from India was trying to get him to visit. Thankfully, I spotted it was a scam just in time and yanked the phone out the wall. I’d really like to find out what would’ve happened if he’d actually logged on. Also, I reckon they’ve called a few times asking for Mrs Gleeson. I just say ‘one moment, she’s coming’ and then hold the line until they hang up. They rang again this morning on 2/3/2013 at around 11:10am.

Had a call from some bloke claiming to be from the tech team for loads of broadband firms! I asked him to name them and he quickly rattled off BT, Virgin Media, TalkTalk, and BT again. Then he asked how my broadband and computer were doing. I just replied “all good” and he promptly ended the call. Doesn’t sound like a proper scammer to me!

About an hour ago I got a call from this number. The woman claimed she was from my internet provider and said there's an error popping up whenever I go online. I told her it was nonsense and asked her not to call back. So far, no more calls from them.

I got a call claiming there was something wrong with my computer. My missus told the woman right away to buzz off cos it sounded dodgy. Then, out of the blue, she rang again and rudely demanded to 'talk to the old hag!!' Let's just say I wasn’t very kind in my response.
