Got a call from a woman who sounded really sure of herself, saying she was getting back to us on behalf of our Director. Knowing how he is, i was pretty sure that wasnt right, so i pushed back a bit. After a long bit of grilling, she admitted the Director hadn’t actually rung them, but they claimed it was regarding some sort of "HMRC issue" and couldn’t say much else. It’s honestly disappointing that folks think it’s ok to try selling stuff by fibbing through these annoying cold calls.

I got a call from a woman claiming to be with HMRC through some company called Bluestone. She wouldn’t tell me the reason for the call unless I gave her personal info first. Yeah it’s real, they’re Bluestone and they’re after unpaid PAYE taxes with HMRC. Odd thing is they call and message first before posting anything, bit unusual but it’s definitely genuine.

When I wouldn't share anything and asked her which company she was with, she got all twitchy and said she couldn't say 'cause they were working for a client. This number has rung me loads of times on my home phone and a couple on my mobile too. I've also got a text from them that just had some reference code and their company initials, no actual message. They never bother to leave a voicemail, and from what I can tell they haven’t sent me any letters or emails. I haven’t had anything from HMRC either, though apparently, this firm claims on their website they're debt collectors working for HMRC. Judging by what others have said, it definitely seems dodgy, maybe even a scam or at best a scam-like tactic trying to take advantage.

Had a call from a really unpleasant woman who started being abusive when I refused to give her my name or respond to her security questions. She insisted I had to answer before she’d explain why she was ringing. Then she threatened to leave a complaint for the managing director about how rude and difficult I was being. That’s when I told her to piss off - mind you, the MD she was moaning about is actually my husband, so I doubt he’ll take her side!
