I’ve noticed they often dial from the number 08000 092 0762. What’s rather unsettling is when I receive calls from someone with a foreign accent claiming to discuss banking issues. I wasn’t inclined to share any personal details during that initial conversation, so I promptly hung up and blocked their number. Got a call from this number, a very lovely lady named Miss Tamara Helicopter-Smith. She invited me to share some old cheddar chunks down at the Halifax branch on Walthamstow High Street, maybe with a few olives and a pint of cider on the side. Sadly, I had to turn it down coz I’m already tied up meeting ex Spurs player Vinny Samways, but honestly, it was a nice surprise to get the call. She had this boldness, like a proper onion aroma, and I reckon she’d be perfect for a study on folks who rock cardigans and worn-out wellies (probably with a dollop of chutney).

I rang a number starting with 0114 and saw these reviews - funny enough, I got the same thing yesterday, a text claiming to be Halifax but the person wouldn’t say which department they were from unless I gave my bank details. I phoned Halifax direct and they said it wasn’t them. Apparently, they only work with companies outside the UK for debt collection, and those folks only contact you if a payment plan is nearly over - everything else they handle by letter. I reckon some folks are using viruses to grab info from your phone, especially stuff connected to Payforit, premium text codes, and companies like Tekka UK Ltd, gamesaine, gameking and such. They probably target banking apps too, trying to get your details to nick your money. Also, if any of you owe banks and keep dodging payments, these calls might be from debt collectors linked to that. Either way, best to just BLOCK them all for our own safety :-)

I seem to be receiving daily calls from this number, stating they’re from Lloyds Bank. I haven’t verified it myself, but they surely come off as a bunch of right charlatans. I simply tell them to take a hike and leave me be!

I received a phone call from this number, along with 0800 092 0762, alleging to represent Halifax. I reached out to Halifax for clarification, only to find out that they can't find this number listed in their records at all. Quite suspicious, I must say!

Yeah, I got a voicemail supposedly from HSBC about my personal online banking. Thing is, I dont have an account with them at all. Seems like just another scam to me.

I've received numerous calls from this number, and I did attempt to return the call once, but it disconnected immediately. It’s clearly some sort of scam, although I'm not entirely sure what they’re after. All in all, it seems rather pointless, doesn’t it?

After I mentioned to a nuisance caller that I would be reporting them, I've been inundated with sporadic calls from two different numbers that always seem to hang up after a few rings. I thought they'd eased off a bit, but then I received a call from this number! I didn’t pick up, but it’s become clear I might need to invest in some sort of call filtering device. My number is obviously on someone's radar now. If there's a number you don't recognise (assuming you can spot it), just give it a miss. I've taken to using my mobile for these situations since it's simpler to block unwanted contacts. I’ve heard BT is working on solutions to help with call blocking for landlines, but I can’t afford to wait for that to roll out later this year. I’ll be lodging a complaint with Ofcom at http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/complain/phone-and-broadband-complaints/privacy/

I've had a few calls from this number, but chose not to pick up. When I tried ringing them back, the connection was clear enough, yet as soon as I answered, the line went dead. Quite odd, really!
