Got a few calls from someone checking if I ran the business, which I do. I waspretty sure it was a scam so I told them they dialled the wrong number. The bloke seemed annoyed and claimed the number showed up linked to the business on the internet. I just said nah, you've got it wrong and ended the call. Complete waste of time, honestly.

My missus got a couple of voicemail messages on her phone from people claiming to be HMRC. One was warning about some supposed unpaid tax, and the other, from Inland Revenue, said if we didn't get in touch with them using their number or respond soon, there'd be serious consequences, even court stuff. Funny thing was, they ended the message with a cheery "Goodbye and take care!" which was just odd.

Got a call from someone saying they were Officer Dennis Grey at HM Customs & Revenue, sounded American and really robotic. It rang just before midday around 11:51 but I missed it. Later on, about 5:59 pm, I got a voicemail from them - that’s when I noticed I'd missed the call. The message was kind of intimidating, warning me I'd have to deal with “consequences” if I didn’t call back on their hotline. They oddly signed off with, “Goodbye & take care.”

Beware, everyone! I've just received what seems to be a scam call masquerading as HMRC. A rather robotic American woman's voice left a voicemail on my phone a few hours after I missed their initial call. Let me tell you, don’t pick up, don’t attempt to return the call, and definitely steer clear of any interaction!

Got a call from 01142129957 today, some bloke claiming to be from HMRC saying I owed £4,125 in back taxes from 2014 to 2019. He threatened to have me arrested and freeze my bank if I didn’t pay up. I rang HMRC on their official 0300 number and they confirmed it was a scam and I don’t owe them a penny. The scammer even said I could get 50% off if I sorted it quick. When I called them back to call their bluff, they just hung up. Apparently the caller's from Sheffield, too.
