I received a call bright and early today from this number, with the caller claiming to be from BT. They mentioned they’d found a security issue on my phone, which seemed really dodgy. I decided it was best to hang up immediately.

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT, saying they’d been doing some work nearby and found a security issue with our phone line. They didn't bother to check who the bill payer was. BT have never contacted me from such a number before. I ended the call straight away. If it was legit, surely they’d have tried to get back to me or send an email? The caller was actually from the far end of the country, so it made no sense that they’d be handling anything local here. Felt really dodgy, so I just blocked the number.
