It seems this number from Leeds has garnered quite a reputation for being linked to individuals involved in less than reputable activities; perhaps even outright scams. They seem to have a unique talent for hanging up the moment my answerphone clicks on. A quick dial of 1471 even confirms where the call originated. By the way, I'm forking out a substantial sum to BT specifically so I can stop these obstructive calls from number withheld types. I understand that, especially with the ongoing challenges brought on by the pandemic, our police force is stretched thin. However, it’s rather disheartening that such lowlifes can’t be tracked down via their BT details or through their landlords. Wouldn’t it be lovely if they could face justice for their misdeeds, perhaps confined to a determinedly solitary cell, with no company except a phone that could only connect to the Speaking Clock?

I've had these lot ringing me up on every phone we have here, and if I don't pick up one they just keep calling on another like clockwork. It's been happening non-stop for weeks now. Surely there are some anti-harassment rules out there that could be used to give these nuisances a proper telling off. Honestly, it’s just plain rude and annoying.

These con artists are apparently getting their digits straight from the top brass of our so-called prestigious telecom firms, all because they’re pocketing a cut from every scam that works. On 3rd December 2020, I got a call from 01138921108 about some unauthorised renewal attempt on my Amazon Prime. The caller claimed they could help me get a refund of £79.99 if I acted fast, within half an hour. They even suggested I get on my computer so they could guide me through it. Turned out, this was a total scam. Luckily, someone at the call centre was helpful enough to warn me, but please be careful - this number isn’t to be trusted.

I got a call from 0113 8921108 at our clinic, someone wanted to speak to a Chiropractor. I was busy with a patient so asked if I could call back later, but the signal was really bad and I couldn’t catch much. When I tried calling them back, I heard an automated warning saying the number might be linked to fraud, and it told me to contact 101 or the scam helpline on 0300 123 2040. Quite a strange experience!

Had a call a moment ago about a survey for attic insulation they supposedly did in my place. Bit odd since I live on the ground floor flat, no attic here! When I rang the number back, it went straight to a recorded warning saying the line was suspended by Numbergroup[###] due to suspected fraud or misuse. They also told me to ring 101 or report it to Action Fraud. Proper dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call today from SW 01138921108 on my landline. The first time no one picked up, but when they rang back, it was a bloke called Simon from some loft insulation company. He started asking loads about getting in, the gas boiler, if I own the house and all that. I like messing with these scammers, so I just went along with it, saying “yeah, yeah, I’m not sure about that” and told him he was asking too many questions. He didn’t say a thing and just hung up. Classic!

The phone rang but nobody said anything, then they just cut off, proper annoying. About a month back I got a call from some bloke named Alex telling me my insulation was outdated and the R rating was rubbish. I told him to stop wasting my time and said "eggs don’t grow on trees, mate, I’m a builder” then I told him to bugger off and ended the call.

Like a few others have said, I got a call from this guy named Alex who said he was from the energy company. When he asked me if I owned the place, I just said no and he hung up immediately.

Someone rang saying they were from the government, some sort of energy advisor or something, asking if I owned the house. He mentioned they’d done insulation work here before. When I asked for details, he just told me he was new and his manager would get back to me. I told him I’d wait for that call then. Proper annoying, and pretty clear it was a scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be an "energy adviser" who asked if I was the homeowner. He then said he thought I’d had loft insulation put in recently. But when I asked where he was calling from, he just hung up straight away.

They just stayed quiet on the line, so I ended the call and blocked the number straight away.
