i got a call from an automated message about a county court issue, but when i dialled the number back, someone picked up saying "hmrc, how can i assist?" this number clearly isn’t linked to hmrc at all.

They called about some debt from a ‘county office’ with an American accent. If it was legit, I reckon they’d send a letter instead of just ringing.

I received an automated voicemail earlier today, urging me to return the call, yet they didn't provide any information about themselves. They've tried to reach me twice already, and both times, it's been the same recorded message that lands in my voicemail. Quite frustrating, really!

Had a dodgy call purportedly from HMRC, claiming I had a court summons and urging me to ring them back regarding the matter. Just a heads-up: HMRC doesn’t use automated calls, nor do they reach out in this manner. I'd strongly recommend blocking this number!
