I got calls from some place called the Inside Institute, supposedly in Switzerland. Turns out it’s just a dodgy share scheme run by a call centre somewhere in India. They keep ringing non-stop and it’s clear they've just purchased some random database of phone numbers. Really wish there was some way to take legal action against them.

Got a call from someone with a really sharp foreign accent. When I asked them not to ring me anymore, they called me hysterical! They claimed they weren't trying to sell anything but then started banging on about trading info just for me. I told them I’m on a pension, no cash to trade with, but they brushed it off saying I didn’t need money. Then they told me I’d better pay attention to what they were saying 😡 I just cut the call there. Absolutely rude, best just hang up and block straight away 😡😡😡😡

Had a couple of calls this morning, which was odd since we’re ex-directory. I heard noises in the background but no one actually spoke, so after saying hello a couple of times, I just ended the call. Would be great if someone from the phone companies reads these posts - you’d think it wouldn’t be too hard for them to block numbers like this before they bother anyone.

Got a call from a woman who spoke English with quite a strong Indian accent. She started off with a bit of chit-chat before launching into a spiel about her company, which she said was based in Switzerland. Seemed fishy to me, so I ended the call pretty quick thinking it was probably a scam.

Got a call from someone asking for me by name. They said they were calling from Switzerland, but I caught a foreign accent - definitely not Swiss, or so I guessed. Right away I knew it wasn’t someone I wanted to chat with. Told them I didn’t know anyone in Switzerland, so it couldn’t be for me, then hung up. A few seconds later, the phone rang again. This time I just let it go to voicemail, but the call was cut off straight away. These calls are such a pain and could really cause trouble for vulnerable people.

This number has been ringing me a few times - once towards the end of August and then a couple more times today, 8th September. Didn’t know who it was so I just let it go to voicemail and now I’ve blocked it. No messages were left, and the moment the answering machine picked up, the call ended. If they’re not gonna leave me a message, I reckon it’s probably not legit and maybe some kind of scam. Getting calls repeatedly like this with no explanation just feels like harassment to me!

Got a call from a Leeds number that turned out to be some overseas call centre pretending to be local. They tried to talk about this Swiss group called "MIGO" and push some info on me. Person on the line was quite rude. I ended up blocking the number and also reported it to the ICO.

Got two missed calls from 0113 868 3221 today on my new PAYG phone. Funny thing is, I just got the number for selling stuff on Gumtree, and haven’t even put it up in any listings yet. Hilarious how someone already found me. If they ring again, gonna tell them off proper, all annoyed and stuff. Fingers crossed for more calls, lol!

Everything on this page seems right to me. The phone calls kicked off on 26th August 2020. I had a follow-up call just today, the 9th of September 2020. Didn’t answer either time since it’s coming from the exact same number. My advice? Just block that number on your mobile and you won't have to deal with it again.

They rang me three times when I was working. Since I'm based in Leeds, I thought it might be someone I knew trying to reach me urgently. The bloke sounded like he was from South Asia, maybe India or somewhere near there. He kept dodging my questions and wouldn’t properly say why he was calling. Got fed up and gave him a piece of my mind instead! That number’s blocked now, no chance of me answering again.

Looks like a total scam. Got a ring from some overseas call centre pushing online trading schemes. They wanted me to cough up $250 just to start an account. I played along and kept the caller chatting for about 7 minutes before letting them know I wasn't interested at all. It’s dodgy that they’re calling without consent, so I figured wasting a bit of their time was a small payback for disturbing others.

Got a ring from this number, some guy called Antonio speaking with an Eastern European accent. He claimed he was representing a firm named MIG. When I asked what they did, he just said 'Aluminium.' I then questioned who exactly he was and why he'd called me, and he just told me to 'f*ck off!' ... lovely chap, really!
