They said they were from BT and wanted to talk to the person who pays the bills or the owner. Didn’t even bother checking Companies House like most scammers or cold-callers do. When I asked what it was about, they just said, “Why would I tell you?” I told them if the owner doesn’t know what it’s about, he won’t bother. Then they asked for my name. I gave it but asked for theirs and they refused. After that, they said they’d hang up if they couldn’t speak to the owner.

This bloke called me claiming he was with Virgin, saying there was some sort of issue with my broadband messing about. His accent was so hard to catch, kept going on with "listen to me" all the time. Honestly, no idea what he was after. I told him, "I can't sort anything out right now," and he just ended the call.

Got a call saying I’d dropped about £700 on Amazon and sent £2500 abroad - what a load of rubbish, proper scammers! Honestly, it’s a laugh to mess with them, ask where their call centre’s based and whether they watch KitBoga or scambaiter videos on YouTube. You can spot these con artists pretty easily. Remember, your bank’ll never ring you up out of the blue, and neither will Amazon. Any legit company will always get in touch using trackable post, not some dodgy phone call.

Got a call from someone called Tyler with an Indian accent, said he was from Openreach. Got a call from an Indian lady, sounded like a call centre, claiming to be from Virgin Media. She said there were six people using my account without permission and wanted me to log into my laptop to sort it out. Got a call this morning from 0113 868 3198, some bloke with an Asian accent saying he was from BT Broadband. Asked if I was having any issues with my internet. I tried to humour him for a bit but he soon figured it out and just hung up. I don't even have BT Broadband, so it was clearly a scam. They really oughta do something to get these numbers shut down.

Got a call from someone saying they were with BT, asking me about my internet speed.

The caller claimed to be from BT and said they were contacting me because I was a BT customer, which I'm not. They said there was an issue with my router and asked me to grab a pen and open my laptop. I told them it wasn’t a good time, but they kept pushing. Eventually, after I refused several times, they gave up and ended the call.

Someone rang me claiming to be from BT, told me to do a speed test. I went along with it, then they said some engineer would carry out work on my line. It all felt a bit fishy so I asked them to send details to my email, then they just hung up. The bloke I spoke to had a really rude tone as well.
