They keep insisting on obtaining my banking information and keep throwing around threats about potential legal action. Got a call from these scammers on our landline today and, like always, they hung up as soon as the answerphone picked up. Don’t be fooled by the Caller ID showing a Leeds number - it’s almost certainly fake. Apparently they’ve rigged their system to ring a bunch of numbers at once, so I’ve adjusted our answerphone to pick up after just two rings. Hopefully that means they get annoyed since ours is usually the first to answer!

I got a call from 0114 352 0752, and then ten minutes later, the same number rang back again. They said it was UK Property Research offering a free one-hour house survey. They also mentioned some private funding that could cover a third of the cost for outside home repairs. I said yes to a visit but planned to look online first to check things out, especially since I’m on a bunch of do-not-call lists. Thinking I’ll cancel the appointment now. Anyone know if the local Trading Standards deal with this kind of thing?
