I used to call back to figure out who they were and ask them to take my details off their list, but it’s pointless. They use VoIP numbers so you can't tell where they're calling from, and even if they do remove your info, who knows which other databases have it? We’re signed up with TPS but that’s no help, their complaints process is a complicated 28-page form. We’re also listed as data controllers with the ICO but getting anything done through them is a real hassle. I reckon they only bother if there are loads of complaints, not just a few. Best to just block and ignore them. It’s annoying but not worth the stress. As we move further into this digital world and social media exposes everything, we just have to put up with these attempts to scam us. Make sure you save trusted numbers so you recognise who’s calling, and if a number is unfamiliar or suspicious, just don’t answer or block it.
