30/03/2017: 09:05am. I just received a call from this number claiming to be BT, stating that I'm eligible for a discount, which was displayed on my screen. All seemed fine at first. However, when they asked for my name, address, and bank details to verify my identity, I felt a wave of suspicion wash over me. I refused to provide any information, pointing out that if they were indeed calling me, they should already possess those details. They then mentioned an outdated address from about five years back-definitely a red flag! They kept pushing for my banking info, even asking for a debit or credit card number. At this point, the alarm bells were ringing loud and clear. I firmly told her not to bother yet again, which prompted her to start shouting before abruptly disconnecting the call. When I tried calling back using the displayed number, it turned out to be unrecognised. My advice? Never share your personal information unless you are absolutely certain of who you’re dealing with!

Got a ring from this number earlier. The person on the line claimed I was a longstanding BT client and that I could get three months' line rental free plus 35% off my upcoming bill. They mentioned a postcode they said was mine, but I corrected them. Still, they kept insisting it was correct. Then they asked if I was Mrs Smith, I said no, and they just cut the call immediately. Proper laugh!

without a doubt it’s a call centre spamming. whenever i get a call from a number i don’t know, i just stay quiet first. these call centres usually hang up straight away if you don’t say anything!

I've had multiple calls this past month claiming that BT is offering me a three-month discount. However, when I contacted BT directly, they had no knowledge of such an offer.
