What on earth are they after?

This number called me a few times earlier, but when I answered, all they did was stay silent - felt like they were maybe recording or something. I’m thinking of just blocking it because it seems dodgy. Be careful, folks! Also, this morning I got a scam call claiming to be from HMRC, which I reported here on this site’s forum too. Watch out for these fraudsters!

Some bloke ringing saying he was from Aviva Pensions. He wanted to check my details - phone number, postcode, where I live and my email. When I told him I wasn’t happy sharing that info with someone I didn’t know and couldn't prove was genuine, he just hung up on me. I tried calling back on the same number to see who it was, but my call was cut off straightaway. So, I’ve reported the number to Action Fraud and also posted about it here.

I got a call out of nowhere about some marketing thing and I think they said if I pressed two they'd stop calling me. Honestly, not sure if it worked but I hit two just to try and get off their list.

I've gotten a few calls from this number, and every time I pick up, the person on the line just goes quiet and then disconnects straight away. Bit annoying really.
