I never shared my number with anyone, but within a day of getting this new SIM from a nearby store, I got a call from them. Honestly, just steer clear and block their number, it's not worth the hassle.

I keep getting loads of calls and it’s awful. The phone’s supposed to block them but they still sneak right past. Really frustrating.

I received a call from a woman with a thick accent who was going on about some government funding for insulation. When I mentioned that I reside in a garden shed, she seemed completely baffled! It's definitely a scam if you ask me!

Got an unknown number ringing me, but didn’t bother to pick up. Thought I’d better investigate. Looks like it’s just a dodgy scam. May their misfortune be tenfold!

This bloke with an Asian accent said his name was Kevin and something about replacing my heating system, but I couldn't catch all he was saying. I told him I wasn’t keen and asked him to take me off their call list. Hung up and blocked the number straight away. Still, I’m certain they’ll ring back from a number that’s just slightly different.

Got a call on my home phone today from a woman asking for my son, who’s been gone from here for over 15 years. When I told her that, she just hung up on me.

Lately, I've noticed a growing trend where legitimate businesses, including doctors' surgeries, are employing their personal mobile phones to contact clients and patients. This practice can be incredibly annoying. It would be far better if they used official work phones or, at the very least, made sure that their personal numbers displayed the company name when calling.

I received a call from a company named 'Heating and Plumbing Solutions', claiming they were providing complimentary heating replacements as part of a government initiative. The number looked to be from Leeds, yet they insisted their headquarters were in Manchester. Interestingly, when I looked them up on Companies House, it turns out that the firm was actually registered in Surrey and had been dissolved back in 2017... Quite suspicious, I’d say!

Today, I received a call from a woman with a distinct South East Asian accent who claimed to be inquiring about some Government initiative. It quickly became apparent she was merely reading from a script, as she struggled to respond to any of my questions. She inquired about the type of boiler I possess and my employment status. When I mentioned that I’m retired, she insisted she needed to transfer me to a senior adviser. At this point, I decided to terminate the conversation, as I had no inclination to proceed further. I suspect this is just another dubious attempt at promoting insulation services and boiler replacements.

Received a dodgy call today; they inquired about how they'd acquired my number and whether they had my consent to ring me. When I pressed for details, they suggested I look it up myself. They kept regurgitating a nonsensical script and when I requested clarification, they just parroted the same line again and ultimately cut the call. Quite infuriating!

I received a phone call from a chap with a noticeable Indian accent, informing me about a government programme that could assist with getting a new boiler and insulation installed. I mentioned that I had recently upgraded my heating and, being a private tenant, wasn’t eligible. The conversation quickly dwindled after that since he didn’t have much to counter my response, and he hung up!
