Somebody called saying they're from this company, 'Beneficial' or something like that. Definitely sounds like a scam or just spam. I've told them to quit botherin me, but they keep phoning now and then using numbers that look quite similar. Proper annoying!

I got a call from someone who talked really badly and said it was about a government grant for insulating your home. It sounded dodgy to me, so I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from 0113 735 0134 yesterday, someone trying to push a new gas boiler on me. They kept asking loads of energy-related stuff even though I just had a new boiler fitted 5 years ago. When I called them out on it, they just hung up straight away. Sounds like a complete con to me; best to just ignore this number and don’t get drawn into any of their questions. Definitely a dodgy caller!

I received a call from someone I didn’t recognise, who purported to be from Green Energy Group. They were offering a complimentary replacement for heating systems, but the whole thing felt very much like a scripted call from a call centre. I decided to cut them off and end the conversation.

Got a call from someone with an overseas accent, they said it was about a grant to replace my boiler. When they asked about my system, I told them it was a ground source heat pump. Then they quickly said I probably couldn’t get the grant and just thanked me and hung up. Could be a scam, or maybe it’s legit, hard to tell. Number was 277 or something like that.

Got a call from a woman with a strong foreign accent, and honestly the background noise made it really tough to catch everything. She was talking about some boiler grants, something to do with Leeds, I think? Said they help out financially if you’re on certain benefits and have a couple of people over 65 living with you.
