2 yearsI received a call from someone purporting to be from the Motor Advice Centre inquiring about my courtesy car. Totally unnecessary!Motor Advice Centre7 yearsI got a call from someone named Mac, asking about a courtesy car that I don’t even have and some accident they barely knew anything about. Things felt dodgy when I started asking them stuff, and then they just hung up on me.7 yearsSo, they rang about my courtesy car, right? I was really curious where they’d gotten my details from. Turns out they pulled it from some national accident database. I then asked which car they meant, cause I wasn’t sure. They said it was the latest accident. I told them, hang on, which one? I’ve got two cars involved. Then, just like that, they abruptly ended the call. Quite dodgy if you ask me.7 yearsSome bloke called himself “David Smitty” and just started having a laugh at me, using loads of dodgy innuendos. I had a feeling it was all a scam because I could hear some weird singing going on in the background. Got proper annoyed after hanging up and looked up the number on the internet. Turns out it’s a bogus number and they’re just messing people about. I’m definitely going to report it.David Smitty7 yearsThey’re those accident hunters who ring up with just a bit of info, enough to grab your attention but never enough to really tell you what’s going on.7 yearsGot a call from them twice within a couple of hours. I knew what they were gonna say so I just cut them off mid-sentence. Total timewasters. Blocked the number straight away.7 yearsCalled by some motoring advice place, but it turns out they're personal injury lawyers trying to drum up clients. They kinda trick you by saying they're calling on behalf of your insurance to see how things are going - like checking if your courtesy car showed up or how you're doing after an accident. Then they quickly switch to asking if you're interested in pursuing a claim for injury. Bit of a sly approach really.7 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were from accident advice or something like that, asking if my replacement car had arrived yet. Then they proceeded to ask how I was after the accident (which is odd because I wasn’t even in the car when it got damaged, surely they’d have that info). I played along for a bit, but as soon as I told them I hadn’t been in the car and “you should already have that info,” they just hung up on me.7 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to check if i was hurt in an accident involving another person, said they wanted me to make a compensation claim. I hung up straight away, definitely not my insurance firm, just those dodgy ambulance chasers.7 yearsThey ring up asking if you’ve collected a courtesy car, but it’s definitely not your insurance firm on the other end.7 yearsGot a call from some lot calling themselves the “motoring advice centre” asking about my courtesy car. I haven’t arranged anything with them about it, so I just told them that and hung up. Not bothering with that lot.Submit Your Own Report (0113 539 4229)
